At the minimum a set of aphorisms consists of a pair of aphorisms. To each member of the pair may (or may not) be linked additional aphorisms, usually one to four, but sometimes as many as seven or eight. The linked aphorisms support, explain, illustrate, expand on, or occasionally contradict the original aphorism.
